I received word in February that I’m invited to the Arté Laguna World prize. My work “South of Greeley” is selected from over 13,000 entries by a very prestigious international jury. It’s a big year for this work. Being selected for the Arté Laguna World Exhibition is humbling and to think about showing in Venice and speaking about my project is both overwhelming and exciting!
I’m keeping this studio journal at the top of the list. I will update as I take in what this means and prepare to show my work. Luckily the ALWP organization works with local vendors to help artists produce work for the exhibition. This keep costs of shipping and customs headaches to a minimum. To think about building a crate and shipping a 4 by 6 foot photograph to Venice? Yikes! I’m so happy to have a local vendor help create the work and deliver it to the exhibition installers. At my request should the work not sell it will be destroyed. If this happens I will post the video of its destruction.
